Here is what patients can expect before, during, and after the upper eyelid lift procedure at SKETCH Plastic Surgery Clinic:

Before the Procedure

• Medical Evaluation – Patients may undergo a comprehensive medical evaluation, including laboratory tests and physical examination, to assess their overall health and identify any underlying medical conditions that may affect surgery or recovery.
• Discussion of Expectations – Our surgeons at SKETCH Plastic Surgery will provide detailed information about the upper blepharoplasty procedure, including potential risks, benefits, and expected outcomes. They are also open to any questions or clarifications about the surgery.
• Preoperative Instructions—At SKETCH, we ensure our patients are guided with specific instructions on the days before surgery. These may include discontinuing certain medications and avoiding smoking and alcohol to minimize the risks of complications.
• Arrangements for Recovery – Our patients at SKETCH Plastic Surgery are free to arrange transportation to and from our clinic before the day of surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort.

During the Procedure

• Anesthesia – The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia or with sedation depending on the patient’s preferences and the extent of the surgery. Our surgeons at SKETCH ensure that you are comfortable throughout the procedure.
• Incisions – Our surgeons carefully create incisions along the natural creases of the upper eyelid to minimize visible scarring. These incisions provide access to the underlying tissues, allowing for the removal or repositioning of excess skin, muscle, and fat.
• Tissue Removal and Adjustment – Excess skin, muscle, and fat are removed or repositioned to address specific aesthetic concerns, such as drooping eyelids or puffiness. Our surgeons may also tighten or reposition the underlying eyelid muscles to improve eyelid contour and function.
• Closure – Once the desired corrections have been made, the incisions are meticulously closed using fine sutures to minimize scarring. Surgical tape or adhesive strips may be applied to support the eyelids during the initial healing process.

After the Procedure

• Immediate Postoperative Care – At SKETCH Plastic Surgery, we monitor our patients closely in the recovery area immediately following surgery. Cold compresses and prescribed medications may be provided to manage swelling and discomfort.
• Home Care Instructions – We ensure that our patients receive and understand detailed instructions on caring for their incisions and managing postoperative symptoms at home. These may include applying ice packs, using prescribed eye drops or ointments, and avoiding activities that strain the eyes.
• Follow-Up Appointments – Before leaving the clinic, we guarantee our patient’s follow-up appointments have been scheduled to monitor their healing process and ensure optimal outcomes. Our surgeons guide skincare tips and may remove sutures during follow-up visits. Stitches will be removed 5~7 days after surgery.
